Laboratory diagnostics services market in Poland 2026
Market analysis and development prospects
The first EOS system on the Polish market was installed at the WizjaMed facility in Łódź in late April 2020. The system is a safe alternative to X-ray exams, making regular diagnostics possible. Commercial exams will begin in mid-June 2020.
Exams performed using the EOS system ensure a minimal X-ray dose, allowing for safe and regular diagnostic testing. Furthermore, the examination is completely safe for children. Xenon detector technology reduces X-ray radiation by up to 80% compared to a conventional X-ray system and by 96% compared to computed tomography.
The EOS system allows for simultaneous biplanar scanning in the AP and LAT planes while the patient is standing, resulting in long-segment 3D images of the skeleton. The examination takes about 4 minutes. It can be used in the diagnosis of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly scoliosis, postural defects, degenerative diseases of the hip and knee joints, spinal pain syndromes, and spinal degeneration.
In late April, the WizjaMed network of clinics, operated by Wizja V Diagnostyka Medyczna, installed diagnostic imaging equipment featuring the EOS system at its facility on Św. Teresy od Dzieciątka Jezus Street in Łódź. The cost of the equipment was 2.5 million PLN. According to a press release, commercial EOS examinations will begin in mid-June 2020. For example, a comprehensive examination of posture and spinal alignment (the entire skeleton from head to toe) is priced at 420 zł. In addition, the company plans to open its first specialty clinic at the same location in June.
Wizja V Diagnostyka Medyczna operates diagnostic laboratories under the WizjaMed brand, located in the following provinces: Łódź, Mazovia, Silesia, Lower Silesia, Pomerania, and Greater Poland. The laboratories provide services in the fields of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Examinations at these centers are performed both under contract with the National Health Fund (NFZ) and on a commercial basis.
