Julita Czyżewska Removed from Her Position as CEO of PZU Zdrowie

Julita Czyżewska is no longer the CEO of PZU Zdrowie, a PZU subsidiary operating in the private healthcare sector. Sebastian Tabaka and Piotr Lizukow have also been removed from the board of directors.

The CEO and Board of Directors of PZU Zdrowie Have Been Dismissed

Anna Janiczek has been appointed acting CEO of PZU Zdrowie. Her goal is to best position the company to meet new challenges—to navigate the difficult period caused by the pandemic and then continue the company’s growth in the healthcare provider market. Anna Janiczek has been with the PZU Group since 2016. Initially, she served as director of the customer relations management office. In the fall of 2019, she assumed the role of managing director of marketing and customer relations. She implemented a comprehensive customer experience management program (the first of its kind in the insurance industry), as well as the customer-focused CX Academy program. Prior to that, she worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland for nearly seven years.

Julita Czyżewska has been with the PZU Group since 2000. She has served as director of strategic projects, director of personal injury claims and benefits, and director of the health products office. She has served as CEO of PZU Zdrowie since the spring of 2016. Sebastian Tabaka was appointed to the board in the fall of 2017, and Piotr Lizukow in the spring of 2019. Maciej Kołek has also been a member of the company’s management board since 2015.

A Personnel Overhaul at PZU

The past few weeks have brought a major shake-up in PZU’s leadership. In mid-March, Paweł Surówka resigned as CEO of PZU after serving in that role for three years. No reasons were given for his resignation. The PZU Supervisory Board appointed Beata Kozłowska-Chyra to replace him. This decision still requires approval from the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. Beata Kozłowska-Chyra has served as a member of the Supervisory Boards of PZU, TFI PZU, and PTE PZU, and has twice been a member of PZU’s Management Board. She also served on the Management Board of PZU Życie. She currently also serves as Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Lotos Group.

Roman Pałac, who served as CEO of PZU Życie until February, has also resigned from his position on the company’s board of directors. Aleksandra Agatowska has been appointed the new CEO of PZU Życie. She has been with the PZU Group since March 2016, when she joined the management board of PZU Życie and became a Group Director at PZU.
