Testing cookies before their launch on the Polish market – pre-launch product testing

For one of Europe’s largest confectionery manufacturers, our team conducted a comprehensive product test on filled cookies prior to their market launch. The project aimed not only to evaluate the taste of the new product but also to verify the effectiveness of the proposed marketing communication, which allowed for the optimization of the market entry strategy and maximized the chances of success in the premium segment.

Project Objectives

The purpose of the study was to conduct a detailed evaluation of the taste, appearance, and texture of filled cookies, as well as to analyze how consumers perceived the proposed marketing communications. The client wanted to gather feedback from a representative group of consumers to understand their expectations and preferences before the product launch. This made it possible to make changes not only to the product but also to the communication strategy, thereby increasing the appeal of the offering to the selected target audience.

Project Details

As part of the project, we conducted 200 tests in two major cities in Poland. The study involved 200 participants—cookie consumers, including consumers of the brand under study. Respondents evaluated not only the taste, appearance, and texture of the new cookies, but also proposed marketing messages intended to accompany the product’s launch.

The study was conducted with demographic diversity in mind—the participants included representatives of various age groups, genders, and places of residence. This made it possible to obtain reliable and representative results, which provide a solid foundation for business decision-making.

Project Results

The client received detailed reports containing an evaluation of the new product and suggestions for changes to its flavor, packaging, and marketing communications. The survey results made it possible to identify the product’s strengths and highlighted areas requiring modification before its official launch.

Thanks to the high diversity of the research sample, the client was able to tailor its product strategy and communications to specific market segments. This made it possible to increase the effectiveness of marketing efforts and build a competitive advantage right from the product’s market launch.

Added Value for the Customer

The PMR project provided the client not only with insight into consumer opinions, but also with specific recommendations for optimizing the product and marketing strategy. As a result, the manufacturer was able to minimize the risk of failure, increase market acceptance of the new product, and effectively plan promotional activities.

Another added value was the ability to segment the results by key demographic characteristics, which allowed for the precise tailoring of the offering to selected target groups. The study provided a solid foundation for making business decisions and building a long-term competitive advantage.

Summary

Pre-launch product testing with PMR guarantees reliable data that translates into real business benefits. Through consumer research, the client can be confident that their product and marketing communications align with market expectations, which increases the chances of success in the competitive confectionery market.
