The Dental Market in Poland in 2026. The premium segment is growing, but more than one-third of patients only visit the dentist in emergencies

The dental services market in Poland gained momentum in 2025, driven by an improvement in household finances and growing demand for premium services. Although conservative dentistry still accounts for nearly two-thirds of the market’s value, implantology, orthodontics, and prosthodontics are gaining increasing importance. At the same time—as our team’s report shows—as many as 37% of Poles visit the dentist only in emergencies, which indicates that despite the sector’s overall growth, preventive care remains one of its greatest challenges.

The market is gaining momentum despite cost pressures

In 2025, the dental services market in Poland grew faster than in the previous year. This is according to the report “Dental Services Market 2026” prepared by our experts at PMR Market Experts by Hume’s. This growth was primarily driven by an improvement in the financial situation of households. The growth in real wages and the gradual release of savings accumulated in previous years led to a greater willingness among Poles to use private dental care.

At the same time, the sector continues to face high cost pressures, limited availability of personnel, and growing market demands. The market remains highly fragmented, which is a key feature of its structure. In the medium term, growth will gradually slow down due to both economic and demographic factors.

A
Shift Toward High-Margin Services

One of the most important trends identified by experts is the growing importance of orthodontics, prosthodontics, and implantology. This trend stems both from an aging population and from a growing interest in cosmetic dentistry among more affluent patients.

In practice, this means a shift in the revenue mix toward more technologically advanced and high-margin services. For dental clinics, this entails the need to invest in specialized expertise, state-of-the-art equipment, and the development of a premium service offering.

However, conservative dentistry remains the cornerstone of the sector, accounting for nearly two-thirds of the market value in Poland. It includes, among other things,

  • treatment of tooth decay,
  • root canal treatment,
  • endodontics,
  • prevention,
  • sanitization,
  • diagnostics.

The dominant position of conservative dentistry stems primarily from the high frequency with which patients use these types of services.

Prevention Remains a Challenge for the Market

Despite Poles’ growing health awareness, promoting regular preventive dental care remains a significant challenge for the entire sector. More than one-third of patients (37%) seek dental care only in urgent situations. Importantly, this figure has remained virtually unchanged over the past two years.

– Our data indicate that the Polish dental market may currently be undergoing a gradual shift in its operating model. Conservative dentistry continues to dominate, accounting for the largest share of the market and generating a steady flow of patients; however, services related to aesthetics and quality of life are gaining increasing importance. At the same time, the persistently high percentage of patients who seek dental care only in emergency situations shows that preventive care remains a significant challenge for the entire sector. In the long term, this may affect both the structure of demand and the treatment costs borne by patients.

Loyalty to a dentist is stronger than the influence of online reviews

In the study, we also analyzed patients’ attitudes toward dental care. Based on fourteen statements, we identified five types of attitudes, the most prominent of which is loyalty to a specific dentist or dental office.

This attitude is shared by 31% of respondents and is associated with loyalty to “their” doctor and continuing treatment at a single facility. At the same time, as loyalty increases, the importance of online reviews and comparing offers online decreases.
