Internet of Things market in Poland 2025
Market analysis and development forecasts for 2025-2030
The
Internet of Things is one of the fastest-growing areas of the Polish IT market. According to PMR data, the total number of devices connected to the network in Poland is growing at a very rapid pace, and this number has doubled over the past few years. This is due to growing interest in IoT solutions and the ever-increasing number of smart devices being introduced to the market.

The motivations for using IoT in the B2B and B2C sectors differ, although in both cases the ultimate goal is generally to streamline resource management. PMR’s estimates for the consumer market essentially boil down to an assessment of sales of connected devices, such as smartwatches and fitness trackers, smart TVs, and smart home solutions.

This market is growing at a very rapid pace, driven by technological advances and the rising popularity of IoT devices. The value of this market more than tripled between 2016 and 2022. PMR believes that the entire consumer market also has the potential for dynamic growth over the next few years, primarily due to the still-low penetration of wearable electronics and smart home solutions. Miniaturization will also be a factor influencing the development of IoT, as it will allow modules to be embedded in nearly any device. This trend will be further driven by marketing efforts led by the manufacturers themselves.
In the B2B sector, the Internet of Things is gaining popularity due to its enormous potential to improve business efficiency and reduce operating costs for companies. According to PMR Forecasts, the value of this market will exceed 10 billion PLN in 2023, growing by one-fifth compared to last year. A key area of the market is the development of so-called smart cities. The scale of investment in smart cities is certainly impressive and sends a positive signal to suppliers, especially since IoT solutions have a wide range of applications in smart city projects. The industrial sector also deserves attention, as it has been recording strong year-over-year growth for the past two years. This growth is linked to the gradual implementation of the “Industry 4.0” concept. Of particular note here is the trend toward industrial automation, a field in which Poland is ranked among the most promising European countries.

A PMR survey conducted for this report shows that, in general, companies in Poland do not use a large number of IoT solutions. For 60% of the companies surveyed, the number currently does not exceed three solutions. However, there are clear disparities depending on company size. Medium-sized companies strongly prefer to invest in a smaller number of IoT solutions. As many as 70% of them report that they do not use more than three. Importantly from the suppliers’ perspective, one in three surveyed companies intends to invest in new IoT solutions within the next 12 months.
