Is there an AI boom in Poland?

Is there still a world without artificial intelligence? Over the past dozen or so months, such solutions have become more accessible and have gained in importance. This has been driven by the widespread adoption of advanced natural language processing models, such as ChatGPT. There is no doubt that AI is currently the most important element of technological transformation, and experts predict it will have a massive impact on the business sector and the consumer market in general.

In 2024, companies in Poland spent 1.8 billion zloty on artificial intelligence

According to our report “The Artificial Intelligence Market in Poland 2025: Market Analysis and Growth Forecasts for 2025–2030,” companies in our country spent 1.8 billion PLN on AI-based solutions last year alone. However, compared to the value of the entire IT market in Poland, AI’s impact on the economy remains moderate. Nevertheless, as experts emphasize, this impact will continue to grow.

Companies are already changing their approach to planning technology budgets for the coming years. Eight out of ten companies say they will increase their budgets for such tools over the next two years. Meanwhile, 75% of large and medium-sized enterprises see potential for using AI in their operations.

Experts see potential in training

As many as ⅔ of the companies participating in our survey admitted that they had suspended or completely abandoned AI-related projects. On the other hand, one-third of companies include such solutions in their strategies, though their role is not entirely clear. Many pilot projects are still in the testing phase.

This opens up enormous opportunities for any business involved in AI training and consulting. Experts also recognize the need for simpler, practical tools that easily integrate artificial intelligence with the basic tools available on the market.

AI in Poland: Are Poles afraid of artificial intelligence?

As artificial intelligence grows in popularity, concerns about it are also on the rise. According to our survey, Poles cite the following as potential risks:

  • violation of privacy through the collection and processing of excessive amounts of personal data (as indicated by 39% of respondents),
  • the ability of artificial intelligence to make key decisions—without human involvement or oversight.

That is why as many as 55% of Poles believe that AI should be regulated by law. This should effectively prevent its misuse. Support for this position is particularly strong among people aged 55 and older—as many as 68% of them agree with the need for strict regulations in this area.

This material was prepared based on our report, “The Artificial Intelligence Market in Poland 2025: Market Analysis and Growth Forecasts for 2025–2030.” The report includes a proprietary index ranking the attractiveness of 23 sectors of the Polish economy in terms of the potential implementation of artificial intelligence. It also provides data on trends, the scale of technology adoption, and the actual use of AI solutions across various industries.

For the purposes of a report on AI in Poland, PMR Market Experts conducted two studies

  • B2B survey of a sample of 204 companies. The survey was conducted in the fourth quarter of 2024 using a mixed-method approach that combined computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) and online CAWI (Computer-Assisted Web Interview). The survey included companies representing the main sectors of the economy (including retail, manufacturing, and construction; ICT; finance; and TSL). The survey focused on companies’ use of AI,  at least in the testing phase, in at least one of six areas: generative AI, machine learning, chatbots and virtual assistants, image analysis, automation and robotization of production processes, and business process automation.
  • B2C survey based on a nationwide quota-and-random sample of 1,155 Poles. The survey was conducted from September 20 to October 1, 2024.
